John 1:1-18 - God Became Man
The central message of this sermon is that God became man to explain himself to us. The eternal creator and redeemer, who exists beyond human understanding, took on human form in Jesus Christ to reveal himself to humanity. This incarnation is the central theme of the Gospel of John, as expressed in verses 1-18, where it is stated that "the Word was God" (v.1) and "the Word became flesh" (v.14). Through this event, God declared himself, explaining his nature as creator and redeemer to humanity. The sermon advances the belief that God's relationship with humanity is one of personal encounter and revelation, rather than mere doctrine or dogma. The takeaway for listeners is that understanding God requires a personal experience of his presence in Jesus Christ, rather than just intellectual knowledge of His existence.
